The Railway Recruitment board exam is an entrance exam that is conducted on All India basis by the Railway Recruitment boards. The board has been set up to recruit competent candidates at the various units of the railways. Candidate can apply to 19 RRBs, which cater to various zonal staffing needs. Group C is for various zonal railways and production units. The employment notifications are declared in the news papers. In fact there are two notification s every year. Interested candidates can sit for the entrance exam for any specific post.
The board has regulated eligibility or qualification criteria for the RRB entrance exam.
- The minimum age needed by the candidate is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 30 for the general category.
- For the reserved category, the age limit has been relaxed as per the government rules.
- Education qualification required by the candidate is a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline by a recognized university. However, the education qualification differs for each post.
- Relaxation is also provided for ex-servicemen who have specific ranks and service of 5 years.
- Defense services personnel who are disabled in operation get a relaxation of 3 years.
- Handicapped candidates also get a relaxation of 10 years.
How to Apply For RRB Exam
Applications can be registered online through the official website http://rrcb.gov.in/ it also provides instructions to fill the form. The registration fees are only for the general categories and nothing for the reserved category candidate. For the post with pay scale of 3050 to 4590 the fee is Rs. 40 and for the posts with pay scale 3050 to 4590 or above the fee is Rs. 60/-.

Candidates are required to read the instruction carefully before submitting the form as any incorrect information will not be taken into consideration and rejected. Candidates should have all the required documents with them and note them down as mentioned in the registration form. Fees have to be paid by DD in favor of Secretary/Chairman of concerned RRB where candidate wants to apply.
RRB Exam Pattern
Candidates should appear for a written exam and interview and should qualify before they get a job. Selection will be carried out if the candidate has scored according to the board requirement. The question paper consists of 4 parts General awareness, Analytical and Quantitative skills, General arithmetic and language General Hindi and general English.
The written exam will comprise of 100 to 120 questions. The candidate has to solve the paper within 90 minutes. It should also be noted that every worn answer will be given negative marks of 0.25 marks. The question paper are provided in local languages, Urdu, Hindi and English. Besides, a physiological test is also carried out for candidates of technical department.
